FAQ

I've got a website, and I'd like to link to a disaster I've made. How can I do this?

First, you have to get the URL address of your attack.

Then, you'll have to create a hyperlink into one of your webpages. You can either use the features of your html editor software, or write yourself the html code, which should look like:

Which results in the following link:

Look at my disaster!

Finding the address of a disaster

While browsing Netdisaster (as well as any other site), you should see, on top of your browser window, under the menu bar, the "address bar", displaying the actual address of the page, in the form:

http://www.netdisaster.com/ go.php? mode=meteor&url=www.mysite.com

This address is unique for each attack you generate. Therefore, you can copy (select, then Ctrl + C) and paste it (Ctrl + V) into an e-mail or any web page.

The URL address must have no space.

Additional tip

The URL of the page you attack might include a session Id. If you intend to forward your disaster (mail it to friends) or link to it, then keeping the session Id might be a bad idea. Remove it, paste and try the attack, then send it / link to it.

A session Id looks like, e.g.:
mysite.com/myFolder/myPage.aspx?SID=HFFKSJ3F35R4W46HR435YFS

Can I send a disaster by e-mail?

Yes you can. The most simple way of sending a disaster by e-mail is clicking on the "Send disaster by e-mail" button, while browsing your disaster. This will open a new e-mail window, including the link to the disaster. The receiver will just have to click this link to view the attack (same target-page, disaster, options).

Otherwise, you can copy and paste the URL address of your attack into a normal e-mail.

You can only send the address of a disaster by e-mail, and not the disaster itself. A disaster cannot be displayed inside an e-mail.

Watch out! If the URL is too long, it might be broken when the recipient of your e-mail gets it. So you might want to use shorter links, as generated for free by sites such as smallurls.com, tinylink.com, shorl.com or 6url.com.
