System requirements
To enjoy your net disasters, the ideal configuration consists of:
• a computer - the more powerful, the better! in order to guarantee
the fluidity of motion;
• a decent browser featuring the Flash plug-in (v.4 minimum) and
javascript, and supporting layers and Flash transparency;
• and of course an internet connection; a high-speed connection
is not neccessary, since the animations, though heavy to handle for your CPU,
have a light weight (not more than 40KB).
Please note that, to my knowledge, no Linux-based browser supports Flash transparency, which makes Netdisaster (even more!) useless to Linux users, unfortunately!
Netdisaster was tested successfully on the following configurations (and unsuccessfully on the crossed-out onfigurations) :
| Windows XP |
Internet Explorer 7 | Internet Explorer 6 |
Mozilla 1.7.3 | Firefox 1.0.1 & 1.0.2 | Opera 7 | Opera 8.5 |
| Windows 98 |
Internet Explorer 6
| Mozilla 1.7.3 & 1.4 | Firefox 1.0.2 | Opera 5 & 7 |
| Windows ME |
Firefox 1.0.2 |
| Windows 2000 |
Internet Explorer 6 sp1 | Opera 8 | FireFox 1.0.2 |
| Mac OS X |
Safari | Internet Explorer 5.2.3 | Firefox |
Linux |
|
If you have tested Netdisaster (successfully or not) on another configuration, please let me know.
Thanks to those who have sent me their test results!
Anyway, update your Flash Player with the lastest version available.
This page deals with the Netdisaster site only, and not with the DisasterBar, that is available only for Internet Explorer so far.
